Earn while you learn with Out of the Blue Modern Apprenticeship opportunities
17th February 2015
Out of the Blue are offering young people aged 16 – 24 paid Creative Apprentice roles as part of #artcore, a dynamic two year youth arts programme in the capital.
Building on the success of the Arts Cafe training scheme, Out of the Blue is pleased to offer real job opportunities in a time where young people are being hit hardest by unemployment.
#artcore Project Manager, Johnny Gailey, explains:
‘The Creative Apprenticeships are a great opportunity for young people, not just to get involved but to get work experience and steer this exciting multi arts project.
We know how difficult it is to get started in the arts and these exciting roles offer a change for young people to get their foot in the door and learn on the job from some of the best in Edinburgh Arts’.
Creative Apprentices will work alongside our creative partners across the city, including The Bongo Club, Creative Electric, Edinburgh City Libraries, Lucky Frame, North Edinburgh Arts, Pyroceltica, Red Kite, SKAMM, Strangetown, Thistle Foundation/Active Inquiry, Verden Studios and WHALE.
Working closely with Edinburgh arts organisations to create a new scene for young people in the city, #artcore is a collaboration with 13 Edinburgh arts and community organisations. It is part of Time to Shine, Scotland’s first National Youth Arts strategy and is supported by Creative Scotland.
