Candythief
BBC Introducing artist candythief, aka anglo-euro songwriter Diana de Cabarrus, first emerged in association with Fife micro label Fence records. Drawing on alternative, acoustic, psych pop, indie influences with a touch of chanson, the songs are melody-driven, occasionally theatrical, hopping between styles, and coloured by unusual song-structures. On record and live, Candythief is refreshingly distinctive and unusual, with live performances featuring a line up of cello, guitar, accordion, mandolin, bodhran and sometimes loops. Paul Gilbody
From pin-drop delicacy to acoustic grooves that leave you smiling. Don’t miss the songs of love and seafood from this reknowned Edinburgh based, Belfast-born singer-songwriter. “A John Martyn/Jamiroquai cross-breed”. In addition to his own distinctive material, Paul Gilbody has been adding his unmissable mark to some of Edinburgh’s hottest exports for some time, including The Jellyman’s Daughter, Kirsten Adamson, folk and BBC darlings Adam Holmes and the Embers, Alex Cornish and an improbably number of others-ask him how many bands he’s in when you see him and marvel at how he still finds the time to dress so sharp. https://paulgilbody.bandcamp.com/
Daccordianna
The funky lyrical folk sound of Daccordianna is the creative outlet of Anna Ross and often features some of Edinburgh’s top folk scene musicians in support of her soulful sound. The songs tap into Anna’s love of mythology and fairy tales and deal with perennial themes of heartache and lost love, expressed in a style that ranges from bluesy solo pieces to bouts of gypsy dancing. https://daccordianna.bandcamp.com/
The cafe kitchen will accompany and complement the music with a delicious menu featuring kippers, morning rolls, mega-muffins and sweet treats galore!
