John Molleson Retrospective
Thursday 14th April - Friday 13th May 2016
10am - 5pm, Mon - Sat
In 1996 when Out of the Blue was a fledgling, John Molleson became Chair of a small board of trustees. John now feels it’s time to retire! OOTB current Board of Directors and staff offer our immense gratitude to a one off person who has given his head and heart to OOTB for over 20 years. To mark the occasion John is exhibiting his favourite images of significant aspects of OOTB’s development.
TWENTY YEARS OF DOING MY THING
I have been Chair of Out of the Blue for twenty years since the formation of the trust and am now retiring. All this time I have been recording the development of the project – doing my thing as a snapper.
OOTB is about providing a space for people to do their thing . This applies to staff as well as studio artists and customers. It also applies to the trustees that are responsible the charity. There is no other agenda driving our work, however it has allowed a multiplicity of communities to form and develop over the decades. Some of these are intensely local. Some, like the ‘Save the Bongo’ campaign, are national or indeed international.
This inaugural exhibition of the Print Shed as a display space is just a few of the thousands of pics that I have taken. It is also a take on the many people who have created this unique space in which people may ‘be’.
Thanks to all for a chance to do something positive.
