Bruncheon featuring Candythief, Callum Easter, Ewan Bush & Artcore Circus

Saturday 9th July 2016
live music from 11.30am - 2.30pm, artcore circus performance at 1.45pm

A cracking line-up for our July Bruncheon put together by special guest programmer Candythief who will also be hitting the stage! Come along for top-notch live music, great food, and excellent company!

As a special treat this Bruncheon will also feature the brand new show by Artcore Circus. Life’s a Circus is the culmination of an 8 week youth circus training course taught by PyroCeltica and Full Cirqle. It will be magic!

‘BBC Introducing’ artist Candythief, aka anglo-euro songwriter Diana de Cabarrus, first emerged in
association with Fife micro label Fence records. Drawing on alternative, acoustic, psych pop, indie influences with a touch of chanson, the songs are melody-driven, occasionally theatrical, hopping between styles, and coloured by unusual song-structures. On record and live, Candythief is refreshingly distinctive and unusual, with live performances featuring a line up of cello, guitar, accordion, mandolin, bodhran and sometimes loops. Callum Easter has been involved in some of Scotland and the UK’s most exciting bands for some time. Now extricating himself from the rocknroll scouts and discovering… surround sound, wires and glory and a deeper path, reversing back to the motherlode, Dr John as a session player on all the old rockin’ hits, Phil Spector’s black hole of reverb and Scratch’s ever-repeating lies of Jah love, spirits and devils, angels in the branches and a demon in the cupboard.
Callum Easter, a singer, songwriter/producer who took the long way round. He’s here now.

Ewan Bush & Gavin Taylor take the stage for some Bruncheon Blues. Ewan Bush’s soulful vocals and harmonica, served with slide guitar (Gavin Taylor) and a contemporary twist, take the blues to new heights.
