September 2016 News

Wednesday 31st August 2016

A fond farewell to Forest Fringe and hello to an all year round programme of classes, workshops, exhibitions, markets and events at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall. September offers plenty. There is still a chance to see Oh Buoy – which features the work of 13 Edinburgh-based artists, who have collaborated with Out of the Blueprint to produce a fantastic exhibition of risograph prints (until 15th). There’s also still time to listen to #artcore’s fantastic Dead Ends radioplays which were recently featured as part of Forest Fringe.

OOTB Arts Factory based artist Andrew MacDonald’s exhibition of paintings and woodworks Tender Offers for the Agitated (17th-23rd) offers a fine retrospective of his work.

Bruncheon (10th) promises another cracking line-up put together by special guest programmer and performer Candythief. Come along for top-notch live music, great food, and excellent company.

Wiff Waff Wednesday (14th) moves seamlessly into its fifth year of ping pong, music, drink and great food at the Drill Hall Arts Cafe. The cafe also supports Freeze Frame Film Club (30th) which presents ‘The Lavender Hill Mob’ (1951), and the legendary Flea Market (24th).

Visit our website for a full run down on the range of events, classes, workshops and exhibitions. Feel free to get involved in the action and get regular weekly updates by joining us on Facebook and Twitter.

  • Donate

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
