Would I Lie To You? The Art of Politics and Propaganda

In response to the mass confusion created by the media and those in power, and to the helplessness we often feel in today’s world, Drill Hall-based art and technology pioneer Trevor Jones is exhibiting a series of augmented reality oil paintings of world leaders created from rubbish found on the streets of Leith.

Each artwork can be scanned with the Creativmuse app to engage a short video of the “sitter” expressing themselves and their intentions in a positive light while contradictory images and video clips portray a very different narrative. This exhibition is not only topical and relevant but with the use of the visually engaging AR technology it will undoubtedly be one of the most powerful shows of the year.

The exhibition of ten portraits will include David Cameron, Therese May, Vladimir Putin, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. It will run for 12 days, coinciding with the US Presidential election 8 November.
