Spring is just around the corner and the Out of the Blue Drill Hall March programme is alive with classes, exhibitions, markets, events and performances.

We are delighted to welcome back the Puppet Animation Festival (27th-29th) for captivating performances and workshops guaranteed to delight children and adults alike. Tickets can be booked via our online box office.

The Freeze Frame film for March (10th) is the French classic Lola. Enjoy a pre film dinner from a guest chef or just come for the film and refreshments from the Drill Hall Arts Cafe.

For real life circus excitement, come along to a fun-filled evening of performance from the circus artists, musicians and performers at Full Cirqle & Friends presents: Leith Loves Circus (25th).

There are two exhibitions of note at the OOTB Drill Hall during March. Out of the Blueprint presents Rap Zine – a brand new exhibition of riso printed artwork by Edinburgh-based illustrators (until 25th). Syn Festival, a multi arts Greek festival, presents Metamorphis/Transformation (9th-22nd).

Prior to that there is another chance to relax at the ever convivial Wiff Waff Wednesday (8th). A monthly ping pong night for all ages with music, drink and great food from the cafe.

There is an excellent line up for Bruncheon (11th) featuring The Eastern Swell, Dowally, Edinburgh Contemporary Choir and Candythief, aka anglo-euro songwriter Diana de Cabarrus. Live music and brunch at the Drill Hall Arts Cafe.

Out of the Blue’s Heritage Lottery Fund supported Leith Moves project is exploring the history of the movement of people and goods to and from Leith. The ‘A Slice of Leith’ project would like to gather the stories and ingredients which make your favourite recipe so special within your community, culture, religion or family life.

Rummage for treasures at the monthly Out of the Blue Flea Market (25th). Over 45 stalls full to bursting with clothes, jewellery, small furniture, music, books, bric-a-brac and so much more. Also a chance to bag some quality vintage fashion bargains at the Vintage Kilo Sale (4th).

    Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

    We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
