Friday, 27th October 2017
A warm welcome awaits you at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall in November where a rich and varied programme of activity craves your participation. Our regular monthly Bruncheon (11th) brings a revolutionary flavour to the hipper kipper with Russian and other Eastern European songs brought to you by KUCHKE, musical Scottish folk tales by TOM KANE and Drill Hall Cafè food with a Russian flavour. The 11th November promises to be a busy day with Bruncheon running alongside a community engagement workshop where those with an interest in feeding into the plans will be having their say on the Leith Tram Depot Meanwhile Use Project. The former Tram Depot is in the process of being demolished and the site will be used in part to provide artist studios in converted shipping containers as well as potential for events and markets.
Also a stones throw from the Out of the Blue Drill Hall up at the top of Easter Road, OOTB Abbeymount Studios is our new and exciting creative space. It provides a multi-disciplinary facility promoting engagement and innovation in craft and design, as well as facilities, opportunities and development for professional designer-makers and the community. Both private and shared studio
Other exciting and innovative events at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall include the legendary Flea Market (Oct 28th & Nov 25th), Wiff Waff Wednesday (8th), and Freeze Frame Film Club (18th). All supported by the OOTB Drill Hall Cafè.
