Launch of The Darting Salamander

Tuesday 2nd November 2021
6.30 - 8.30pm, free entry

The Darting Salamander, Leith’s first anthology, celebrates the work of local writers and poets with readings, music, good company and stimulating discussion. The Darting Salamander is the result of a creative collaboration of local talents.

  • Meet the authors.
  • Pick up your copy of the book.
  • Enjoy refreshments at the Out of the Blue café.

The first edition is free but donations are welcome and you can become one of the #101 – the first 101 supporters will get a reward of a signed copy and A3 poster of the beautiful cover which was designed and printed at Out of the Blueprint (suggested donation £25 but all donations are greatly valued).

Why #101? This event takes place on the one hundredth and first anniversary of Leith’s amalgamation with Edinburgh on 2 November 1920. From now with your support it becomes an annual event. Welcome to Leith’s second century!

  • Donate

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
