Freeze Frame Film Club Presents – The Thing (1982)
Sunday 3rd November 2024
From 6.00pm, £8 - £22
Freeze Frame is delighted to present a special Halloween week screening of the spine chilling classic The Thing (1982).
Dig out your parkas and snow goggles in preparation for a night of frozen terror as we join the crew of the remote Antarctic research station, US Outpost No. 31.
In the second screen adaptation of John W Campbell Jr’s novella ‘Who goes there?’ fear, paranoia and mistrust grow among the twelve scientists wintering at the station as it is infiltrated by an unknown entity known only as the ‘thing’. In the frozen desert of the Antarctic, there is no one to help and nowhere to hide.
A two course meal inspired by the film will be served before the screening.
To Start:
Norwegian Fish Soup or
Pytt Panne – Roast beetroot, carrots, potatoes, pickled beetroot and horseradish cream
Mains – Blood & Ice
Chicken & black pudding saltimbocca or
Blowtorched squash – with butter beans, walnuts and gruyere
both served with icebergs (celeriac mash) and blood (cranberry, gravy)
To finish:
Tinned pears, in whisky syrup with a biscuit & ice cream
Join us for a celluloid inspired pre-show meal in the Drill Hall Cafe or just come for the film and freshly popped corn.
