What’s On This Month
We’ve got lots of exciting events, markets and workshops this month as we gear up for the festive season.
December sees the return of the annual Drill Hall Winter Arts Markets from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th December. Across the three days, over 100 of our hand-picked local independent artists and makers will be selling their work, with different stallholders each day. As well as our usual Saturday and Sunday markets, due to demand there will be an extra market on Friday 6th December (5pm – 9pm). A great chance to have a glass of mulled wine and do some early evening Christmas shopping. From paintings, prints and homewares through to jewellery, textiles and ceramics, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re looking for something to do between Christmas and New Year, why not come along to our festive December Flea Market at the Drill Hall on Saturday 28th December and browse over 45 stalls packed with pre-loved clothes, jewellery and collectibles.
As always, the Drill Hall Cafe will be open throughout, serving a great selection of teas, coffees and seasonal treats. You could even grab a jar of our homemade Preserves as a unique stocking filler.
Over at Out of the Blue Abbeymount Studios, we’re holding our annual Winter Open Studios this weekend (Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December). It’s your chance to meet over 30 of our talented artists and makers, peek inside their studios and get some unique Christmas gifts.
Celebrating 30 Years of Out of the Blue
As part of our celebrations, we asked several members of our community “what’s good about Out of the Blue”. This month we hear from long term friend of Out of the Blue, Magdalena Schamberger. You can watch her video here.
Stay tuned to our social media as we bring you more over the coming months! In the meantime read on to find out more about what’s coming up in December.
