In 1996 when Out of the Blue was a fledgling, John Molleson became Chair of a small board of trustees. John now feels it’s time to retire! OOTB current Board of Directors and staff offer our immense gratitude to a one off person who has given his head and heart to OOTB for over 20 years. To mark the occasion John is exhibiting his favourite images of significant aspects of OOTB’s development. The exhibition will run from 14th April to 13th May.
April kicks off with OOTB Drill Hall tenants Art in Healthcare’s Art Materials Jumble Sale (2nd) A wide range of equipment and materials will be on sale, with artists demos running throughout the day. Another worthwhile Re-Act Humble Jumble Sale (9th) will use funds raised to support refugees fleeing conflict in the Middle East.
OOTB once again welcome the Puppet Animation Festival, to the Drill Hall in April with three top quality shows and a workshop. Advance booking encouraged here. (4th – 7th April)
April’s Bruncheon (9th) offers a cracking line-up put together by special guest programmer Diana de Cabarrus (Candythief, Stems) who will also be hitting the stage. Come along for top-notch live music and great food from the OOTB Cafe.
OOTB’s vibrant youth arts scene, #artcore, recently took over the Edinburgh Central Library for a fun packed day of live music and arts activities. Artist in residence on the day Graeme Mackellaig sketched the Library’s interior and architecture, where he created some wonderful pieces of artwork. To capture this, #artcore will be exhibiting his work – ‘Let there be Light’ at the OOTB Drill Hall. (4th April – 2nd May)
April’s Wiff Waff Wednesday (6th) and Flea Market (30th) offer more opportunities to relax into spring time in the ambient atmospheric atrium of the OOTB Drill Hall.
