Out of the Blue embrace summer with a rich variety of home grown initiatives.
During the first week of August, children in Leith will have the chance to try new activities, meet new pals and ‘play and learn stuff’! The P.A.L.S Summer Scheme activities will all be based in the Out of the Blue Drill Hall, and will feature visual art, drawing and comics with Out of the Blueprint, drama, games and performance with Strange Town Youth Theatre and aerial dance and circus activities with All or Nothing. Part of the Scottish Government’s ‘Get into Summer’ programme.
The OutBound exhibition will inhabit the main hall of the Out of the Blue Drill Hall weekdays between 10am and 4pm from the 16th to 26th of August. Springing from well trodden wooden floorboards to soaring glass roof, the exhibition will encompass multiple media, platforms and species, showcasing the work of 10 local artists. Free tickets are available for the launch event on Friday 13th August which will feature live performances from Swiss Portrait and DJ CHOON.
All supported by the delicious refreshments of the Out of the Blue Drill Hall cafe.
We’re looking forward to the first outdoor Abbeymount Studios Makers Market on Saturday 7th August. The market will be held in front of Abbeymount Studios on the first Saturday of each month from 11am-5pm (free entry) and feature a wide range of original art and gifts created by our talented resident artists.
Out of the Blueprint are excited to announce the launch of their brand new Gocco Club; a FREE T-shirt making workshop for 18-24 year olds who are in receipt of Universal Credit. Gocco Club, which will run from Monday 23rd – Friday 27th August at our dedicated print room at Out of the Blue Abbeymount Studios, is a chance to design, hand-print and sell your own T-shirts.
We look forward to welcoming you to Out of the Blue.
Thank you for your support.
