Ethnic Minority Groups: Understanding Social Enterprise [CANCELLED]

Specifically tailored for ethnic minority groups, these FREE workshops will take into account both the changing landscape of the voluntary sector and the potential and aspirations of ethnic minority voluntary sector organisations in Scotland. Attendance at this workshop will help participants to explore and identify enterprising opportunities within existing voluntary organisations; many of which are already trading but have not yet identified and formalised this activity as “social enterprise”. Participants will also learn success stories from other successful social enterprises in Scotland.

The session will include:

– Get some inspiration
– From ideas to enterprise
– An introduction to Social Enterprise
– Overview of social enterprise structures and the current landscape
– Identifying enterprise opportunities
– An overview of the support and learning Just Enterprise can provide
– Case studies

Who should attend?

Ethnic Minority groups, charities and social enterprises who are looking to gain a deeper understanding of social enterprise, identify opportunities for income generation or to formalise their enterprise activities.

Workshop attendees will gain:

– A better understanding of Social Enterprise, legal structures and governance 
– Inspiration from learning about other successful enterprise organisations 
– Network with like minded individuals and share your social enterprise interest 
– Knowledge of and access to Just Enterprise business and learning support services for Ethnic Minority Groups.

    Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.
