The Future Show

Book tickets here.

Forest Fringe co-director Deborah Pearson brings her Sisyphean project The Future Show to Out of the Blue for three performances only. Rewritten in part for every performance, the piece plays with what is expected, what is foreseen and what is ultimately unknowable about the future.

Deborah Pearson’s 2010 Edinburgh solo show Like You Were Before won a Herald Angel and was shortlisted for the Total Theatre Award for Innovation and the Arches Brick Award. She has performed her work throughout the UK and in Portugal, Ireland, Japan, Canada and the USA. This June she was nominated for a Dora Award for her first libretto.

“One of the best solo shows to be presented at Fusebox… It was both intimate and universal.” – Timothy Braun and Katherine Turnbull, British Council USA

“A tender, meditative attempt to find a foothold on life’s uncertainties.” – Matt Trueman

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
