Out of the Blue house over 150 artists in studios throughout Edinburgh and are constantly trying to satisfy huge demand for creative space. To complement our revitalised website artist directory, we have started a new section of our website featuring the work of these diverse established and emerging artists. Our first featured artist is Drill Hall based painter Trevor Jones.
Artists working from OOTB studios often collaborate on projects, many of which encourage wider community participation and provide a platform for people’s creativity. OOTB are soon to launch a multi arts education project uncovering moments of history from Leith Docks.
Meanwhile OOTB’s Creative Scotland supported #artcore project’s spring programme is under way with an impressive range of creative activity taking place with our partners throughout the city.
OOTB are offering opportunities for a couple of new artcore trainees. One is to assist artists in delivering their workshops and supporting the young people who take part and the other is to assist in the everyday running of the Out of the Blueprint studio.
The OOTB Drill Hall will host the artcore commissioned Comic Exhibition, (8th – 29th Feb) and launch the Out of the Blueprint self published comic at Takeover – a bonanza of fun multi arts activities accompanied by some of Edinburgh’s finest new musical talent, at the Central Library (6th Feb).
Bruncheon (13th Feb) features an impressive musical line-up, put together by special guest programmer Diana de Cabarrus (Candythief, Stems) who will also be hitting the stage. Join us for top-notch live music, great food, and conviviality.
Conviviality is also very much on the menu for Wiff Waff Wednesday (10th Feb) along with servings of food, drink and table tennis. All accompanied by tunes spun by MC Riff Waff. And likewise Freeze Frame Film Club (19th Feb) features modern classic Frank (2014), with film, food and drink in a friendly environment.
