Tuesday - Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am-3pm.

Public Open Evening: Thursday 16th February 6-8.30pm, with refreshments

‘Forest Bound’ is a Community Group Exhibition of artwork and more, made during and after walks in the ancient Caledonian forest – the Black Wood of Rannoch, and Roslin Glen. This multi-media, multi-sensory and interactive exhibition includes collage, painting and drawing, film by Written in Film, sound and recipes. It provides an experience of the smell and touch of the great Scots Pines and rainbow-coloured fungi found in the Autumn in Scotland.
The work in the exhibition was created by members of the Chinese, Syrian, and Polish communities who live in Edinburgh. The group was interested in, and learning about how we are part of nature, how we share the ability to adapt, maintain resilience and manage uncertainty with the forest wildlife. In this exhibition you will be surrounded by the infectious laughter that came from walking together in such special places.

Forest Bound is supported by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH), Edinburgh and Lothians Racial Equality Council (ELREC) and Tamsin Grainger (lead artist).

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
