France Jacques Demy 1961 (90 mins)

As one critic wrote ‘among the most neglected major works of the French New Wave’, Jacques Demy’s debut feature is a lyrical and atmospheric tale of missed opportunities and unrequited love.

Anouk Aimee plays Lola, a cabaret dancer in the French port town of Nantes. Running into an old flame sparks memories and reflections on how life has unfolded. This is a style over substance classic, another reminder of how the nouvelle vague turned simple notions into cinematic poetry.

Film only tickets – £3.00
Come along and enjoy the film, the free popcorn and a refreshment from the Drill Hall Cafe Bar from 7:45 for 8pm Intro and screening.

Pre show dinner inspired by the film £15.00 from 6:30
French themed menu this month takes its inspiration from the Loire Valley & the produce of the Atlantic coast.

Bon appetit!
