10am - 5pm (Launch event Monday 3rd Oct, 6pm - 8pm)

An exhibition of paintings and prints by local artists Anna Redpath and Malcolm Knox.

Anna Redpath

Anna began her formal training in Art in secondary school, achieving an O Grade in Art and an Advanced Higher in Art and Design before commencing a three year programme at the Hawick campus of Borders College in their internationally renowned School of Textile and Design. She later won a place at Glasgow’s School of Art. Her métier is collage, embroidery and abstract. Anna has a fluid approach to her work, which has resulted in significant changes in style over time. She uses her own personal circumstances and emotions as inspirations for her Art Work which gives her pieces an intensely personal and reflective feel.

Malcolm Knox

Malcolm uses the Scottish countryside and landscape as inspirations for his Art Work. His love of nature developed as a child as an active hill walker and sailor. At an early age, he had climbed many of the Munros, as well as sailing the waters of Scotland including the Outer Hebrides and the Firth of Forth. His love of the Impressionist style of painting has been the direct inspiration for some of his paintings as has the Post Impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh. During his visits to Paris he has spent many an hour in the Art Galleries seeing as many Impressionist paintings as he can.

Both Anna and Malcolm would like to thank everyone at the Alma Project for their support and advice which has helped them continue to develop as artists.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
