Get Your Happy Back Workshop

Sunday 30th November 2014
10am - 11.45am, £15

Back pain is the second most common reason for absence from work (after the #1 culprit, stress) and 8 in 10 of us will suffer from some form of non-specific back pain (myself included). A symptom of today’s lifestyle: sedentary desk jobs for the iPad generation keep us relatively stationary with the average person sitting 8 hours a day (some of us up to 15+). Typically we feel tightness in the hips, shoulders and back as well as weakness in the powerful muscles of the buttocks, thighs and abdomen. All of this can combine to put pressure on the back and lead to discomfort and pain over time.

This workshop is aimed at those who would like to learn some postures they can adopt at home to keep the back happy and will focus on strengthening the entire posterior chain, while creating space in tight hips and shoulders.

Book now to get your happy back 🙂

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
