What’s On This Month

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a lovely festive season.

January sees the start of a new term of classes at the Drill Hall. If you fancy learning aerial skills, All or Nothing offer a programme of classes for all ages and abilities including static trapeze and aerial skills.

On the youth drama front, Strange Town will be running classes for 8 – 18 year-olds, giving them the chance to learn about different styles of performing.

If you’re looking to get crafty, Remode Collective has a brand new programme of classes and workshops starting in January. Drill Hall artist Graeme Walker will be running a free Adult Workshop in Acrylic Taster on Thursday 30th January (10.00am – 12.00pm) ahead of his painting classes which start on Thursday 6th February.

Our monthly Flea Market is also back on Saturday 25th January. Come and browse over 45 stalls packed with pre-loved clothes, jewellery and collectibles.

The Drill Hall Cafe will be open from Monday 6th January. They’ll be serving locally sourced and seasonal produce, with wonderful baked goods all made in-house, including our Drill Hall Cafe Preserves which you can buy to take home with you.

Celebrating 30 Years of Out of the Blue

As part of our celebrations, we asked several members of our community “what’s good about Out of the Blue”. This month we hear from participant Dr Kate Cuschieri. You can watch her video here.

Stay tuned to our social media as we bring you more over the coming months! In the meantime find out more about what’s coming up in January.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
