Marseille Morning

Wednesday 22nd - Friday 24th June & Monday 27th June - Saturday 2nd July
Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm, free entry. Opening night: Tuesday 21st June 6-9pm

Lifting the veil on the Summer Solstice on Tuesday 21st of June, a group of mystically-minded artists will inhabit the main space of the Out of the Blue Drill Hall to present ‘Marseille Morning.’ The work encounters and embraces mysticism and spirituality from artists at all stages of their creative endeavours, seeking out the animal within whilst questioning our exploitation of power, people and planet.

Encompassing multiple media, platforms and species, the exhibition will showcase work by Abi Lewis, Aimée McCallum, Alice Carnegie, Anupa Gardner, Bethany Thompson, Cecile Simonis, Catherine Hiley, Cristiana Messina, Emma Macleod, Eugenia Barbisan, Jessica Crisp, Lyndsay Fairley, Nomoss, Page Hardie, Robert Powell, Samantha Dick and Veronica Merlo.

The Opening Event from 6pm on Tuesday 21st June will feature live performances from Burnt Paw and the Chanting Temples and Nomoss.

We will also have a late evening opening of the exhibition as part of this year’s LeithLate programme on Friday 24th June from 5 – 9pm, with the Out of the Blue cafe bar open.

Marseille Morning will also feature a custom 78-card deck of tarot cards collaboratively designed by 26 artists and risoprinted at Out of the Blueprint.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
