May News

Friday 29th April 2022

Out of the Blueprint welcomes visitors to see the new work of current artist-in-residence Sarah Phelan at a social event and launch of A Public Fax Forum on Wednesday 4th May between 6 and 8pm. The launch event will feature refreshments and music. A good chance to see the work and meet the people creatively involved with Out of the Blueprint.

On Friday 27th May between 7 and 10pm, the Out of the Blue Drill Hall cafe presents live music from Ailsa and the Seahorses and Mally Smith. Come and bathe in some dreamy sounds under the setting sun at the Drill Hall.

Out of the Blue has initiated many projects and trading enterprises such as the Drill Hall cafe and Out of the Blueprint throughout our history.  Partnerships with funders and stakeholders have been integral in supporting us to establish and accelerate our impact. Ensuring security of tenure for the buildings we work from has been an essential and challenging part of ensuring sustainability.

These elements combine again as we currently investigate the work required to develop Abbeymount Studios to its full potential.

Thank you for your support.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
