February 2013 News

31st January 2013

OOTB’s much loved creative offerings go from strength to strength. Bruncheon (9th Feb) is a perfectly blended food and live music event at the Drill Hall Arts Café where local musical talent and DJ’s create a chilled out atmosphere alongside delicious home-made café food. For February the Sound of Muesli gives way to the sound of “Speshul K”! If you have been bitten by the bargain bug, the monthly Flea Market (23rd Feb) is a fantastic opportunity to rummage at stalls full to bursting with clothes, jewellery, small furniture, music, books, bric-a-brac and so much more. As always, treat yourself to coffee, hot rolls and cake at the Drill Hall Arts Cafe. Wiff Waff (14th Feb) is a great opportunity to experience ping-pong shenanigans with a heady mix of table tennis, eclectic music, beer and moonlight. A match made in heaven.

The iconic Bongo Club is OOTB’s sister. Since being born in 1996 the Bongo Club has developed reflecting the hard work and love of many who have worked their proverbial socks off to keep it alive and kicking.  Despite two forced moves along the way, the Bongo Club has harnessed the waves of support to make the seemingly impossible, possible.  Sign up to the Bongo Club mailing list to receive breaking news of the re-opening which is eagerly anticipated for the end of February.  The Bongo will re-establish and develop a flourishing programme of music, arts events, rehearsals, workshops and classes in a new and exciting underground space in the heart of the city. For those who have been co-authors of the ever changing story – a Big Bongo Bash in the spring will showcase all.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
