October 2013 News

26 September 2013

October features many regular events designed to draw local, national and international contributors and audiences to the OOTB Drill Hall. OOTB are delighted that Word Power Books’ Radical Book Fair (23rd-27th) returns with acclaimed authors from around the world, to a packed programme of events for a local audience. The events include workshops with local primary school children in collaboration with Edinburgh Libraries.
If you are looking for music, food, drink and conviviality then look no further than the returning swish of Wiff Waff (2nd) and the sound of muesli (Bruncheon 12th).

Also making a swift return is photographer Robert Ormerod – part of The Photographers Collective exhibiting new work from photographers based in Edinburgh and beyond (8th-18th).

The Autumn Arts Market (5th) offers the opportunity to buy original artworks in many mediums direct from a wide range of makers, whilst the monthly rummage fest  Flea Market promises again to delight many on the 28th Sep and a scaled down mini-flea market alongside the Book Fair on the 26th Oct.

If you are visiting the OOTB Drill Hall don’t miss the chance to savour meals, cakes, drinks and snacks served for your delectation from the ever popular OOTB Drill Hall Arts Cafe.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
