Place-Age: Leith Neighbourhood Exhibition

Monday 22nd - Friday 26th April 2019
Monda- Friday 10am - 5pm

Opening event on Monday 22nd April, 1pm. All are welcome to attend!

‘Age-friendly communities’ are those that have policies, services and structures that enable older people to ‘age actively’ – that is, live in good security, enjoy good health and continue to participate fully in society.
The Place-Making with Older Adults: Towards Age-Friendly Communities (PLACEAGE) project (2016-19) has been undertaking research to explore how older adults experience ageing across different neighbourhoods and to identify implications for the delivery of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities.

This exhibition will showcase the themes emerging from the research, present a series of recommendations for working towards age-friendly cities, and gather input and further feedback from communities such as Leith.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
