Strangetown Radio Plays

February - May 2015

The Strangetown Radio Plays project, in conjunction with #artcore, offered young actors and those with no prior acting experience a chance to develop new skills in the world of voice acting.

Strangetown is a theatre company which aims to enable young people to fulfil their creative potential. They seek to offer quality theatre provision for young people aged 5-25 in Edinburgh, giving them a platform for a variety of aspects in theatre, from writing to acting to directing. For more information on Strangetown, please click here.

Three Strangetown plays were adapted and recorded for radio purposes, with training sessions on diction, technique, and positioning. This was a chance for aspiring actors to expand their skills and experience, and also for those with no background in acting to learn a new skill and even become more involved in future theatre projects.

An #artcore project with Strangetown Young Company.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
