Out of the Blue say a fond farewell to the Forest Fringe and prepare once more to make our own entertainment. Welcome back to our all year round programme of events, exhibitions, classes, workshops and much much more. OOTB Drill Hall residents Strange Town are back with an amazing range of drama classes for all ages and abilities. Our very own OOTB Drill Hall cafe’s Bruncheon (12th) has the best in mellow music and food. Freeze Frame are expanding horizons with a music and quiz night (18th) and a collaboration with Drill Hall residents Take One Action for a tasty meal and a movie (26th). The 26th also sees the return of the popular Flea Market rummage fest and the tables and decks are being wheeled out for a convivial night of play at Wiff Waff Wednesday (9th).
OOTB are sorry to see two stalwarts of the cafe team, Steph and Isi, moving on. There is now a great job opportunity. Be an integral part of the Drill Hall Arts Cafe team as the Cafe Training and Development Manager.
September’s programme offers a wide a range of participatory opportunities; from classic Copenhagen Street Art to an exhibition, film screening and radical creative cafe from Wool Against Weapons and the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.
Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.
We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.
Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.
We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
