The Out of the Blue Drill Hall is an all year round centre providing excellent opportunities for people from Leith, Edinburgh and beyond. Whilst August offers a showcase to the world, September is the start of another period of participatory classes, workshops, projects and events.
Out of the Blue’s homegrown events for September include Bruncheon (9th), Wiff Waff Wednesday (13th), Freeze Frame Film Club (23rd) and our monthly Flea Market (30th). All events are supported by the delights of the Out of the Blue Drill Hall Cafe. Heads up also for the Mid Century Market (1st Oct) – a new and exciting venture from the Flea Market team.
OOTB welcome the Sensatronic Lab Open Day on 2nd September, offering a chance for young people to create a unique ‘sensory orchestra’ which can be shared through live performances and audio and visual distribution.
Out of the Blueprint is a risograph print studio based at the OOTB Drill Hall, offering affordable, eco-friendly printing and supporting young artists. Working with the Edinburgh University, Out of the Blueprint are organising a series of small focus groups and one-to-one interviews to be held in the Drill Hall in the first week of September 2017 to explore awareness, attitudes and perceptions of Out of the Blueprint and see how to help more people to engage with their print services.
Out of the Blue studio residents Take One Action host a participant led workshop on the 16th September as part of this year’s 10th anniversary Take One Action Film Festival. Full programme available via TOA online and facebook or download programme PDF.
