Thistle Blues Dancing: Chicago Blues Crash Course

Saturday 9th March 2024
4:30pm - 6:30pm, £8 - £12

Thistle Blues Dancing presents this crash course on partnered dancing to Chicago blues music.

This session will cover the basics and some key techniques of blues dancing with a focus on dancing to the iconic sounds of Chicago blues. Featuring great artists like Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Etta James and more!

Come learn how to find the pulse of the music and put into your body, comfortably connect to a partner with a beautiful embrace and how to do dances like the Grind and Chicago Triple.

Perfect for those who are new to blues dancing or those who want to polish up their fundamentals.

Bring water and wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes. Dancing in smooth soled shoes or socks is recommend so that you can easily spin and slide without risking damage to your knees.
