Thistle Blues Dancing: Solo Blues Workshop

Saturday 14th October 2023
11:15am - 4:45pm, £15 - £30

Thistle Blues Dancing presents this afternoon workshop on solo blues with Ewan.

Workshop Content

The afternoon will include a deep dive into pulse, body isolations and blues dance vocabulary. With a focus on being present with yourself and dancing mindfully as well as how to share your dancing as part of a community. Some experience of blues dancing is preferred but not essential. If the idea of a solo dance workshop is off putting to you, then don’t worry; this session will not be focused on performance or choreography. And all content will be just as relevant to partnered blues dancing.

Key Information

The workshop will have an hour break for lunch around 1.30pm. To attend the workshop there will be a sliding scale price to cover costs but make it accessible (£20 regular price, £15 concession for students or those on low income, £30 for patrons who are happy to pay extra to cover concessions).

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
