Tinderbox Collective presents: Inuk

Wednesday 12th February 2025
5.30pm - 7.30pm, suggested donation £5

Special screening of the award-winning Inuk by Tinderbox Collective

Inuk is a feature length film created by the Uummannaq Polar Institute (UPI) with filmmaker Mike Magidson, based on the true facts and philosophy of the Uummannaq Children’s Home.

Inuk covers a journey from Greenland’s south to its north as a homage to the origins of the Inuit. It’s the coming-of-age story of 16-year-old Inuk, who was raised in the south in Greenland’s capital Nuuk, and who is torn between the violence of his alcoholic parents and his dreams of creating an Inuit rock band.

Over six months in 2024 Tinderbox Collective had the most incredible time getting to know the young people from UPI through their Scottish Government Arctic Connections funded project, Ice Games.

They are delighted to be showing the film at the Drill Hall on Wednesday 12th February. Doors open at 5.30pm with the film starting at 6.00pm.

Light refreshments will be on sale.

Age Guidance: 12+
Themes of violence & addiction.
Inuk will be screened in Danish & Greenlandic with English Subtitles.

As part of Local Cinema.
