Drill Hall Arts Cafe
Where fresh, simple and honest food takes centre stage
Set in the heart of the historic Drill Hall, the cafe is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a class or event, or simply to catch up with friends or family for lunch or a coffee. In fact, The Times reviewed the Drill Hall cafe as ‘The beating heart of Leith’ and one of the 5 best cafes in Scotland.

Locally Sourced and Seasonal
We proudly serve locally sourced and seasonal produce, with wonderful baked goods, all made in-house.
Our inviting space welcomes everyone and is accessible to all, throughout the daytime and for special events. Join us in celebrating community, a warm atmosphere and good food. Our lunch menu changes every day (but you can always bank on fish and chips on a Friday!). The cafe is open Monday to Saturday (10am – 5pm).
You'll also find our Drill Hall Cafe Preserves - small batch jams, pickles and chutneys from rescued food from Fareshare. We use time-honoured methods and traditional recipes to make use of fruit and vegetables that might otherwise go to waste. You can buy a jar and take it home with you, or enjoy with your toast or inside your slice of home-made Victoria Sponge. So far we have diverted almost half a ton of potential food waste from the bin.
Hosting an event in the Drill Hall? We can help with your catering needs - from morning teas and coffees through to working lunches!
