The centre for making, creating and design in Edinburgh

Occupying an iconic old school building at the top of Easter Road, Abbeymount Studios is a centre for art, craft and design, with studios in fine art, ceramics, textiles, photography and printing.

Aims and Ambitions

The goal is to provide diverse facilities and resources which enable professional artists, established and emerging, to nurture and grow their businesses as well as being open to hobbyists and learners.

History

Out of the Blue took over the running of the studios in 2016 and have expanded and created a hub for crafts, creativity and community

What Happens Here

From fashion designers to painters, over 50 creative individuals use their studios to harness their creative abilities. The facilities include purpose built workshops with tools and equipment for fashion and textile design, ceramics and printmaking. The workshops attract close to a hundred participants each week. The Future
