Learn how to thread, understand tension, use and maintain your overlocker sewing machine with Remode Collective.
An overlocker is a type of sewing machine that uses multiple threads to seam fabric while also overcasting to cover raw edges. It is a beautiful (and very useful) piece of equipment, but they are a bit more complicated to use than regular sewing machines.
If you are thinking about getting an overlocker or you already have one but you don't feel confident enough to use it, then the Overlocker Workshop is exactly what you need!
This 3 hours workshop is designed to walk you through the basics, build your confidence and teach you what you need to know to use this machine to its full potential.
You will cover:
- what parts the machine has and how they work
- how to thread your machine, and adjust the thread tension
- looking at the different types of seams and finishing techniques
- practice how to sew straight lines, curves, and turn corners
- how to maintain your machine, and prevent costly service charges
The small workshop size ensures valuable one-to-one teacher and participant time, allowing maximum engagement and assistance.
